Each year, Air Alliance Houston staff and volunteers meet with aspiring scientists from junior and senior high school at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston. We discuss their projects related to air quality and environmental issues in order to choose winners for our Young Air Scientist Awards. At times when science is being challenged, it is refreshing to see our youth still have a passion to explore our world. They investigate problems and potential solutions to problems in air and water quality, energy efficiency, health effects of pollution, and much more.
This year the fair will be on a Saturday afternoon, February 25, at University of Houston. We need volunteers to help with judging. The more judges we have, the more students we can connect with and encourage to continue their interest in environmental science and engineering. Judges would be needed from approximately 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. The fair is open to the public from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Details on the fair are available at https://www.sefhouston.org
