Air Alliance Houston Happenings

The following are just a few of the projects keeping AAH’s staff busy during the month of April:

  • The Coalition for Environment, Equity and Resilience (CEER) held its most recent meeting on March 29, and was also referenced in a Houston Chronicle editorial highlighting that it’s growing increasingly evident that the state government needs to do a better job at assessing Harvey’s environmental impact rather than continuing to prioritize industry.
  • The One Breath Partnership released its latest video, featuring Rice University atmospheric scientist Dan Cohan explaining that climate change isn’t just about polar bears, and directing viewers to the project’s petition asking Governor Greg Abbott to enact smarter policies to protect Houston’s air quality.
  • AAH’s Pasadena Community Project announced plans to hold a town hall meeting on Sunday, April 29, where attendees can learn about a proposed anti-idling ordinance, community survey results, Harris County Public Health’s Safer Routes to School Project, and much more.

Lastly, AAH is seeking volunteers to participate in the following tabling opportunities:

  • Boy Scouts STEM Midway, NRG Arena, Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m.
  • Earth Day Festival,  Evelyn’s Park in Bellaire, Saturday, April 21, time TBD
  • Earth Day Houston, Discovery Green, Sunday, April 22 at 11 a.m.
  • Grand Opening at Exploration Green in Clear Lake, Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m.
  • Wellness Event, Briargrove Pharmacy, Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m.
