In December, Air Alliance Houston was one of 11 area nonprofits chosen to receive “The Gift of Guidance” at The Social Media Breakfast of Houston. This event allows local social media experts to give back to the community while learning from their peers.
Air Alliance Houston received pro bono social media advice and with the assistance of members from the community, developed a mini-social media strategy over breakfast, discussed fine-tuning media approaches and learned valuable tools and techniques.
The social media leaders present that assisted Air Alliance Houston were Damien Franco, Elizabeth Hamilton and John Cheval. Our table leader, Damien Franco, had quite a few out of the box suggestions that you will see implemented into our social media strategy very soon. One is underway this week as Carra Sykes of Primer Grey, acts a guest photographer on our Earth Day Houston Instagram account. Damien was excited to work with Air Alliance Houston and he expressed his desire for cleaner air in Houston on behalf of daughters. Elizabeth Hamilton, business manager for Alicia Dunams Intl. acted as the table’s scribe and offered an enthusiastic and creative perspective for the strategy. Cheval John was also present and made several helpful suggestions about joining Twitter conversations and meet-ups.
Air Alliance Houston has been attending The Social Media Breakfast Houston for about 18 months and highly recommends it as a fun, casual networking opportunity for others in the community looking to improve their social media skills.
