Meetings are currently using a hybrid mode, so you can attend either in person or virtually. The Port Commission agenda is usually released at least 72 hours before the meeting.
This meeting discusses the current agenda and project decisions of the board at the Port of Houston. Currently, the Healthy Port Communities Coalition (HPCC) is focused on the board’s Ship Channel Expansion plan to widen and deepen the channel.
This project is also known as ‘Project 11.’ Concerns with the plan include increased pollution and congestion from increased traffic that will affect wildlife and port-side communities. HPCC members attend to be able to bring information back to communities.
Air Alliance Houston’s main point of contact with the Healthy Port Communities Coalition is Leticia Gutierrez – [email protected].
The Port Commission has adopted a formal Public Comment Policy for its public meetings. A copy of that policy can be read by clicking here.
Public comments are available up to an hour before each Port Commission meeting. Please contact Erik Eriksson at [email protected] or Liana Christian at [email protected] to submit a public comment request.
