Rice University Environmental Justice Film Event

Please join us for the screening of the documentary Smells Like at Rice University. Smells Like shows the community action against Houston’s industrial pollution led by Juan Flores, the AAH Community Air Monitoring Program (CAMP) Manager.

There will be a panel discussion following the film screening. The panelists include:

  • Juan Flores (AAH CAMP Manager)
  • Jim Morris (Public Health Watch founder)
  • Casey Beck (Filmmaker)
  • Patricia Gonzalez (Community Member, Advocate)
  • Dr. Latrice Babin (Executive Director, Harris County Pollution Control)

Look for the AAH table at the reception after the panel discussion!

This event will take place on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 7:00 pm in Sewall Hall (Room 301) at Rice University. For more information about the event and to register, check out the event website.

Recommended directions: Enter the Rice University campus through its main gates on the corner of Sunset and Main. Once you’ve entered the gates, park at the Founder’s Court Lot, which will be the first parking lot on your left. Follow the highlighted map below for the best entrance into Sewall Hall from the Founder’s Court Lot. Room 301 will be on the first floor.
