Purchase your tickets for $10 here

The Houston Botanic Garden is situated in a unique physical location, along Sims Bayou between a freeway and the Houston Ship Channel. For too long, the air we breathe has been a bit of a mystery. Through a grant from and in partnership with the EPA and the Houston Health Department, the Garden is looking to help people better understand exactly what is in the air we breathe — and what we can do to make it the best if can be — through a series of panel and roundtable discussions focused on air quality in our region.

In the latest installment of the Understanding the Air You Breathe series, Naiyah McDaniel, a chemist with the Houston Health Department, will discuss factors contributing to air pollution in Houston. Learn more about the air pollutants the Health Department monitors and the active grants in the community that make their work possible. Community participation in these interactive sessions helps the Houston Health Department and other like-minded local advocates continue on their journey toward achieving cleaner air.

Non-member fee of $10 includes general admission to the Garden. Garden members can use their member benefit to attend for free.

Houston Botanic Garden offers free parking for daytime events, which are held rain or shine. Understanding the Air You Breathe will be held in a climate-controlled tent. If you have specific questions, please email [email protected].
