When: Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 6:00 PM

Where: Online

On February 28, join Paige Powell, Development Director at Air Alliance Houston, as she discusses the impacts of air pollution on physical health, quality of life, and economic prosperity at an online event hosted by Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church in Houston. In her talk, Paige will consider:

  • What is the “right” amount of air pollution for a healthy and prosperous society?
  • What are the true costs of doing business measured by the Triple Bottom Line?
  • What are the socioeconomic implications of racial inequity and environmental injustice?
  • How can the Houston economy continue to thrive through the energy transition and beyond?

Paige will provide information on Houston’s air pollution, its related health impacts, and those disproportionately impacted to provide thought-provoking responses to these questions. While she will address this topic from a Houston perspective, these questions are relevant for everyone, everywhere. Time will be provided for discussion with the audience after Paige’s talk.

Paige Powell, Development Director, Air Alliance Houston

The talk is part of the Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church’s monthly environmental education web meeting series whose theme in 2021 is Healthy Planet = Healthy People = Healthy Economy.
