Dr. Inyang Uwak

Dr. Inyang Uwak is an Environmental Epidemiologist with over a decade of diverse public health experience in environmental health, human exposure assessment of air pollution, and community-based participatory research. Over the span of her career, Dr. Uwak has worked in academia, local health departments, and non-profits.

As Research and Policy Director at AAH, she ensures that science-based, equity-centered data analysis forms the basis of educational messaging and advocacy efforts to reduce the public health impacts of air pollution and advance environmental justice.

Inyang received her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree from Texas A&M University in Epidemiology and Environmental Health, her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Johns Hopkins University, and her Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

She currently serves as the Environment Section’s Program Planning Co-Chair for the American Public Health Association (APHA) and is co-editor of its monthly newsletter.

When she is not working, she enjoys participating in outdoor activities with her family and creating healthy treats in the kitchen.
