The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released an updated version of EJScreen, an environmental justice screening and mapping tool.
EJScreen considers environmental and sociodemographic indicators to help identify communities that are particularly vulnerable to risks associated with environmental pollution and climate change. Sociodemographic factors such as race and ethnicity, income inequality, unemployment, linguistic isolation, educational attainment, and the increased presence of vulnerable age groups may elevate the susceptibility of a community to the impacts of hazardous pollution.
We encourage you to attend the EPA’s Overview and Training session over the tool for the public.
When: March 9, 2022 at 12 PM
Where: Online via Zoom
There is no registration page for this session, simply click on the link at 12 PM to attend.
In the future, the EPA will hold bimonthly Office Hours sessions for the public to provide feedback and ask questions about the tool. The last office hours were Feb 23, 2022 at 12 PM. You can check THIS PAGE for announcements of these office hours or other training sessions.
