Speak Up for Clean Air: Join the TCEQ Rulemaking Hearing (Nov 20)
Texas is proposing updates to its regulations of concrete batch plants. This is progress! Now let’s make sure the final rule truly protects our health.
What’s Happening: The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is taking public comment on proposed revisions to 30 TAC Chapter 116 (Standard Permits) and the State Implementation Plan to implement SB 763 and SB 2351. These rulings would require TCEQ to review the concrete batch plant permit at least every eight years to make sure it still protects public health. It would also require facility operators to update their construction plans if the permit changes and they haven’t started building yet.
Air Alliance Houston will be attending the TCEQ hearing in person and is providing a free bus from Carl Walker Jr. Center in Fifth Ward for community members who want to join us.
